  2. cutting Today

Today, I cut mats with some fellow backyard cutters. Cutting today didn't go as well as I thought it would for me, because it took me three times at least to get a suhei-suhei double. Barely. Also, I wasn't in top form today, probably because I didn't practice for almost 2 weeks. However, I hope that I can continue to grow and be able to become a better cutter =) Gotta work a lot on my ha-suji =)

  4. Frustration and Boredom In Training

Hey everyone. Today I was thinking for a bit about the times when training gets frustrating or boring. We have all experienced these moments whether it be with backyard cutting training or in our other martial arts training. Sometimes just going inside and watching t.v. is much more appealing then being out and training.

  5. Tsukamaki on my katsumoto katana

Tsukamaki is very time consuming and if you want to get very even diamonds with hishigami etc. then it can take 2 or more hours not to mention sore fingers the day after. However, I like doing tsukamaki, and will be working on katatemaki wrap as soon as I get more ito for my katsumoto katana. It's pretty weird because I have never used anything other that silk ito (lol) but even though pricey, I think that the end job is worth it.
